Empowering Abilities works to empower individuals to achieve their best. With open minds and passionate hearts, they lead the charge in creating solutions that work for their participants and their families. Everything they do is centered around those they serve. They cheer them on. Offer guidance. Teach. Advocate. Offer safety. Most of all – they empower. Their mission is to provide premier services as they passionately advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities for them to succeed, achieve, grow and be happy. Their vision is to be a preeminent organization for people with disabilities.
Empowering Abilities offers programs designed to help their participants achieve their individual best. Programs are innovative, inclusive, and ready to create opportunities and change lives. They include daily discovery, employment services, endeavor living, residential center/group homes, and more.
They plan to use the funds awarded to renovate and revitalize a room in their facility to reflect the energy and spirit of the people they serve
Kids Against Hunger is an international food relief organization working to save the lives of starving people. Kids Against Hunger helps to make a difference by feeding kids in your local area as well as in Nicaragua, Haiti, and Honduras. Kids Against Hunger in the QC organizes Packaging Events where volunteers package food for the hungry and malnourished.
IICIL provides a number of consumer-directed services, including information and referral, advocacy, independent living skills training, and peer support, which are mandated by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In addition to these services, we also have a fully accessible computer lab, state of the art information and referral library, TTY/Amplified Phone acquisition, devices for people who have low vision or are blind, Braille and transcription, sign language, technical assistance on disability laws and policy, Disability Awareness Training, accessibility audits, and a host of volunteer opportunities for consumers and other interested persons.
