Free services are offered daily at Argrow's House for women in the community healing from violence and abuse. Services range from domestic violence support groups, yoga, spiritual direction, massage therapy, art therapy, and more. Argrow's House has also opened a residential home to help house women and children fleeing from domestic violence. Argrow's House is named after Rev. Argrow Margaret Warren. She is our founder, Dr. Kit Ford’s, grandmother. She lived through a violent marriage, but embraced such courage and love.
Argrow's house wants to empower women mind, body, spirit, as well as financially. So they started a bath and body business where women healing from abuse can create beautiful all natural bath and body products that provide a living wage for themselves in a safe space that celebrates who they are. They've also recently opened a cafe and gift shop in Davenport. For Women, Made by Women, Survivor Strong!
Project Renewal provides educational, recreational and social activities for children during the school year and summer in a safe, loving environment. Staff and volunteers are positive role models for the children, reinforcing values needed in order to live healthy and productive lives. Located in the central city, Project Renewal’s grass roots organization has been a stabilizing force in this fragile neighborhood since 1974. Project Renewal is an important organization in our community which can deeply impact the life of a child and is very rewarding personally for those who volunteer or provide financial support.
FTLOMH's purpose, online or in person, is creating a safe space where individuals can support one another through peer-to-peer counseling and shared resources within the Mental Health Community. The FTLOMH ComeYOUnity Center, opened September 10, 2024, and aims to provide Mental Health Services and Wellness offerings to ALL Individuals; especially those that have little or no services otherwise available to them. FTLOMH offers global advocacy for Mental Health Services for everyone, regardless of financial abilities, racial, gender, sexual orientation, age, and marital status. They connect individuals to available resources in their residing area. Through generous funding, they can offer free Mental Health Services and Support within our ComeYOUnity; and eventually become an asset to the Mental Health ComeYOUnities abroad.
